]]> 2012-02-09T;19:12:00-05:00 reacomm@aol.com While I have been over Maureen Dowd’s rants on The New York Times Op Ed page for quite some time now, it is none other than Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein that must bear the primary responsibility for this mess.  His position that the poor misunderstood bankers are actually “doing God’s work” is an affront to all decent sensibilities regardless of religion or ethnicity.  As a Jew, Blankfein’s remarks display an astounding level of hubris topped with a hefty helping of chutzpah.  And oh yes, he has a remarkably tin ear when it comes to anticipating how those remarks will be received.  Blankfein and his predecessors at Goldman Sachs and the other bailed out robber barons of Wall Street are an affront to decent people everywhere.  But the obvious Jewishness of their names gives voice to the kind of hateful rhetoric all Jewish people end up enduring.  Goldman Sachs and Blankfein are embarrassments as are the Madoffs...and speaking of embarrassments, lets not forget Israel Singer’s adventures with WJC money a couple of years back.  I expect the Maureen Dowds to knowingly venomize their columns with coded and not so coded slurs.  It just would be nice if the Blankfeins of the world didn’t make it so damn easy.
