Moishgil in 50 words or less (to yourself of course) please describe the significance of Yom Kippur and why we do what we do on this most important day of atonement. You have 364 days to work towards the goal you stated. This day is due Ha-Shem and ourselves.

God forbid a learned Haredi Rabbi should suggest Jews make more time in the coming year to help some of the 1500 children who die of malnutrition everyday; or help the hundreds of millions of people who don’t have clean drinking water or basic medical care. Yep, we need to be told our Crocs are not appropriate for YK. Big important issue that the Torah was certainly concerned about if every there was one.
