Wouldn’t it be better in a situation that goes back hundreds of years to just let bygones be bygones? No one today is going to feel the least bit ashamed of what their far distant ancestors did. The time is just too great between then and now so being adamant about the statue’s removal will just exacerbate problems that no one needs at this time.
