NETANYAHU MAY CAUSE ME TO KISS LIEBERMAN’S BUT AND APOLOGIZE FOR CRITICIZING HIM. It is very interesting how you can always trace a skunk by his smell. So, in the end, Netanyahu was quite a fox, sending his ex-KGB skunk to meet with Moscow’s ex-KGB chief skunk to see what their KGB ties might produce of some benefit to Israel and in that way to world peace. Recognizing the smell in the room-- as one Commie to another-- PM Putin asked his fellow ex-KGB Soviet operative: “Would you mind speaking without an interpreter?"-- now that’s a good sign!!!!!

It is ironic however, what a heavy price America payed from the 1960s to 1980s to have Soviet operatives like now Israeli Foreign Minister Lieberman “escape anti-Semitism in the USSR,” only to return-- like so many other “victims of the Soviet pogrom"-- to lucratively engage in business, live there like princes, all through speaking in common language with the ex-KGB Chief, Putin. Perhaps the goal of Lieberman is a for-old-times-sake Red Sandwich slapped over Iran. Old Red USSR ties were tried by Mossad and IDF generals with Georgia’s Shekashvilli and with Moldavia’s Voronin in the hope of flaming old anti-Russian sparks; but Moscow undercut the Israeli war makers in Russia’s periphery so that now, Israel must turn to the one source of power in the “near abroad”, Putin, using its top ex-KGBer to renew old ties with him.

Netanyahu-- a man whose focus on Israel’s security is the definition of his being-- realized that it is better to work WITH Russia than try to promote war AGAINST Russia, as his clumsy predecessors tried so often to do. After all, GW Bush-- the “decider,” whom, Israel thought, can be counted on to decide for war in order to have an excuse to wear his “Commander-in-Chief” bomber leather jacket before the troops (this is what you invariably get when you make a cheerleader chicken-hawk captain of the football team). But towards the end of his “decider” era as an “UN-decider,” he had frozen in fear when he was expected to act against Russia during the many CIA-rigged “colored revolutions” and military assaults by US allies in Russia’s “near abroad” of former Soviet Republics. With no clear sign that Obama would follow Israel’s lead to do to Russia what Israel got Bush to do to Iraq, thought Netanyahu, why not let FM Lieberman’s old Red ties rekindle, to morph into a Russo-Israeli Romance that surrounds Iran.

Netanyahu is a totally unprincipled and dishonest shyster. Yet, he loves and would die for Israel, just like his brother, without a flinch....taking political risks to his career for his country, like few of his predecessor-- self-absorbed politicians through and through, all but Rabin. That makes Netanyahu a rational actor, one that can be expected to, out of a deep desire for Israeli security and normality, to use the economic carrot with the Palestinians rather than the Zioniazi extermination stick used by his Kadima predecessors. As one with great affection for Nixon’s brilliance, I can’t pretend not to admire the realist brilliance of Netanyahu. It is in that light that I withhold vomiting at the sight of a ganov like Lieberman representing a nation of people who speak for one of the cultural pillars of Western democracy, going to make a deal with his ex-KGB master. Of course, it seems rather dangerous to send a pig to outsmart a monkey. But, hey, that’s what Netanyahu has on hand.

The Americans, well aware of the fact that lavish support for Israel and engaging in wars at Israel’s beckoning, caused it to look like an exsanguinated and exhausted loser. And still, Israel yells for “MORE, MORE, MORE...don’t forget Iran.” All of Israel’s propaganda services in the West can’t put back in the box the image of Israel’s attack on Gaza recently as Zionazi lebensraum through extermination of Palestinian civilians. The Holocaust Industry’s shameful exploitation of something so holy to all mankind as the memory of Nazism’s innocent victims merely as “inking” to blind the world to the Israeli Poland redux of WW II in Gaza, failed; and so, Israel is seem all over the world in a new light by all peoples. In that context, the empty “settlements” it hoped to use as “facts on the ground” in order to impose on the US acceptance of Greater Israel, have fallen flat. Obama has insisted on a two states solution-- real states-- with the settlements abandoned to the real owners of the land, the Palestinians. One can only hope that Netanyahu can prepare for that inevitable day by first integrating the Palestinians into Israel’s economy. In that way, though smaller in territory that it hoped to become, Israel’s influence could become far bigger, leading the Sunni Arab states into sci/tech modernity while providing them a nuclear umbrella of deterrence against Iran. Over time, the real Israelis, the Sabras, will go throughout the region to train their distant Arab cousins in how to escape from Arab one crop banana republic oil economies, to create an economically vibrant region where there was nothing but sand.

In the complex familial renewal between Israel and the Arabs, Lieberman the secular KGB man, would at first seem as awkward as a pork as the tenth at an Orthodox minion. But sent “home” to Russia, he can both be out of the way from the Cabinet and possibly even useful in disarming the anti-Russian disdain that Netanyahu predecessors generated for purely exploitative reasons. And, a little bit of co-pressure on Iran from a Putin and Lieberman accord would not be a bad thing, especially given Ahmadinejad’s fraudulent electoral recapture of power. Sending Lieberman to rebuild old KGB ties, Netanyahu is not naive about the fact that Moscow no more wants to be a military threat to Iran than does the US. But it is here that Lieberman like a Biblical figure, known only for his criminal encounters with Interpol and the Israeli police, might end his years remembered as a Foreign Minister who contributed to a three-way mutual understanding between Russia,Israel and Iran. That would be no small thing in these times of grave diplomatic underarm nervous perspiration smell in global foreign relations. It might even make up for Ahmadinjad’s phony election, for Russia knows all the pressure points of the Iranian President, having secretly dealt with him for years. Secret Putin-Lieberman-Ahmadinejad conversations in Moscow just make one wish he/she were a fly on the wall to see the alchemy of turning manure into gold. With Netanyahu dealing with the US and Lieberman with Russia, we may see something good come out of immorality....Contrary to all our faiths, it wouldn’t be the first time, even for the Bible, just ask Kissinger, the Devil’s top diplomat.

So here’s the lesson: in diplomacy there’s no good and bad with only those of one type able to talk to those of the same kind. Diplomacy is making gray areas that smudge polarizing distinctions. I’d be the first to send Lieberman a box of chocolates and a letter of apology for misjudging him if he would prove to be the diplomat that “brings home the bacon.”

So now the Zionist ideologists must join me in celebrating realist pragmatism as applied by the Netanyahu Cabinet instead of cursing it on Zionazi grounds. Yeah, God did tell us not to give up on anyone of our fellow humans and to be humble enough to see good come out of bad, as is His Holy Will. There may yet be another big lesson to ex-commie neocon ideologues that sought to engulf us in their “World War IV” against Islam catastrophe while they make out like bandits from guns dealing. All’s well that ends well, and I could see myself kissing FM Lieberman’s tuchus in appreciation for a job well done if he does well for Israel and the world in his talks with Putin. THE ALTERNATIVE IS SCARY AND WOULD BE TRAGIC FOR *ALL* OUR CHILDREN. So heck, for the future of all our kids, I’d pucker up my lips and humiliate myself in gratitude if he earns it.
