Message from Elisa Spungen Bildner, JTA President

A fundraising email appeal JTA sent out Friday under my signature contained words I did not specifically approve, words that seemed to criticize bloggers and Twitterers. Understandably, they ruffled a few feathers in the blogosphere.

“On behalf of my staff, I apologize if we have unintentionally offended anyone.”

Why don’t people just say, “I apologize to those I have offended.”

“A fundraising email appeal JTA sent out Friday under my signature contained words I did not specifically approve.”

If something goes out under your signature, it doesn’t matter who wrote it. You should take full responsibility for it, and this doesn’t sound like you’re doing that.
