The Middle East’s most quixotic head of state makes some interesting pronouncements on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times.

It is puzzling to see Steve Erlanger incapable of understanding the obvious. Hamas is not interested in negotiations. Fatah’s sole objective is also the destruction of israel as a Jewish State. When will all those proponents of the “two state solution” open their eyes, read the Hamas-Fatah-PLO Charters, and finally use their brains?

It’s not so complicated. If the “road map” specified that the “Palestinian” nation inhabiting Israel’s ground must swear off violence and recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish nation, why is Hamas allowed to be in Gaza? Has Fatah even done this? If they have, then they are the ones to govern the PA. Hamas has not and will not meet the criteria, so they are irrelevant and legally should be removed from Gaza and Judea and Samaria. All signatories to the “Road Map” should ensure that this is done.
