I fear I must take leave of the Winehouse blogging, before I cast myself a one trick pony. But before I do, I just wanted to share with you that Amy took home five Grammy awards yesterday: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Now you know why, despite her antics, her fans are willing to put up with her: She’s got talent. Here’s hoping she’ll take this as inspiration to clean up her act.

Just to recap: On Monday night, in a debate with Janet Murguia of the National Council of La Raza, Lou Dobbs accused the ADL of being an “absolute advocate group for open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.” Then he took another shot:

Well, on Thursday night, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann fired back, giving his daily “Worst Person in the World” award to Dobbs.

Going through some old emails and found this about Bush’s trip to Israel. A little late, but still…

This post should not be interpreted as an endorsement of the International Solidarity Movement nor the cameraman’s take on the land dispute in question. But rather a hope that if the day of turning swords into plows and spears into pruning hooks is not around the corner, then at least the Israelis and Palestinians could make progress by dropping their drawers instead of picking up their guns.

In other words, what many of you may see as boorish, I call progress.
