Jewish Agency responds to Haaretz report on Galperin’s salary

The Jewish Agency for Israel is trying to offer some perspective after a report in Haaretz said that CEO Misha Galperin's compensation package for seven months of work in 2010 amounted to $478,000, and chairman Natan Sharansky earned $214,000 that year -- more than the prime minister.

The Jewish Agency's response: Galperin's pay is equal to what he earned in his previous job as head of the Washington federation, and his 2010 compensation figure included one-time relocation costs from Washington to New York. Did he use Shleppers or Moishe's Moving? Read the full response, posted by the Times of Israel, here.

Aliyah decreased in 2011. This fact reflects on the JA policy and Mr Galperin’s lack of competence. His qualifications include the fact that he made aliyah to the USA. JTA you should do a story about this yourself. Hundreds of people can no longer feed their families so this Russian Oligarch can get richer. The more you pay these guys the less they do. Of course Mr Shansky is still our hero. Right?
