"Strangers No More," a documentary short about a Tel Aviv elementary school, won an Oscar for Best Documentary Short Subject Sunday night. The film tells the story of refugee children, many who have escaped war and genocide, as they adjust to new lives in Israel.

I watched the Academy awards...trite in large part. I was proud of Natalie Portman’s speech...it was dignified and showed a strong intelligence and sense of values.
I am surprised that I didn’t pick up that the short film was actually Israeli...I thought I heard the word Tel Aviv but it went by so fast that I wasn’t sure. Am I being paranoid? The film looks wonderful and I hope I will get a chance to see it...it is heartwarming but of course it doesn’t fit in with the rhetoric of the loony left ...which sees Israel as an apartheid state...which of course it is the furthest thing from...and yes, Libya is still on the human rights council so the world is still in la la land well the UN is anyway…
