Let there be G-dcast

From the mind of Jewish t-shirt maven Sarah Lefton comes G-dcast, a new animated series of Torah commentaries as told by a different Jewish celebrity each week. Check out the first episode below, which features Rabbi Lawrence Kushner.

New episodes will be posted each Monday at g-dcast.com.

This is awesome. Mazel Tov to Sarah Lefton for coming up with yet another innovative Jewish idea!

This is so cool!  Rabbi Kushner was my teacher many, many, many years ago, when he had more hair, longer hair, and redder hair!

I am a secular Jew. Should I consider your interpritation of old Jewish texts as an adaptation to new ages and realities? Obviosly we cannot take it literally.

Hey Vladmir,

Think of it as a cover version, like Marilyn Manson singing “Sweet Dreams.” (Well, not exactly like that.) The storytellers are going to be everyone from Orthodox Jews to atheists (and in between), and people can take away anything from “I wonder if it happened like that” to “Wow, that was just like <i>The Matrix” and, of course, every reaction in between—just like when people read the Torah.
