9/11 conspiracy
Western media – and many Western governments – largely have ignored the pernicious smears that have proliferated in the last eight years in the Arab world about 9/11 (calling them "conspiracy theories" gives them more credence than they deserve). Prime among them are that the Jews and Israelis knew about the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in advance, did not show up to their jobs that day at the World Trade Center, and even perpetrated or orchestrated the attacks.
So it was interesting to see The New York Times take up the subject in a piece Tuesday by Michael Slackman about what in Cairo has become "conventional wisdom" about the attacks. After briefly reviewing the lies, Slackman writes:
It is easy for Americans to dismiss such thinking as bizarre. But that would miss a point that people in this part of the world think Western leaders, especially in Washington, need to understand: That such ideas persist represents the first failure in the fight against terrorism the inability to convince people here that the United States is, indeed, waging a campaign against terrorism, not a crusade against Muslims.
It goes beyond that, however. Smears and conspiracy theories about the West long preceded the 9/11 attacks, and they have followed on unrelated and more recent subjects. Arabs commonly believe Israel infected Egyptian children with AIDS, that the two bars on the Israeli flag represent the goal of Jewish dominion over all the land between the Nile and Euphrates rivers, and that Jewish interest in the genocide in Darfur is part of a plan to occupy Sudan and, eventually, the entire Arab world.
It's important not to let such attitudes go unheeded, because they are a sign of how disconnected from reality much of the Arab world is and how much needs to be done in order to lay the groundwork for peace, particular between the Arab world and Israel. Pretending such attitudes do not exist only set the peacemakers up for failure, partly by ignoring the factors that drive so many Arabs to embrace the radical and rejectionist ideologies of Hamas, Hezbollah and others.
On a semi-related note, here's what Jeffrey Goldberg is thinking about 9/11: The next mega-attack in America will be a dirty bomb, and Barack Obama and John McCain had better focus much more attention on deterring this nuclear attack.
The next president must do one thing, and one thing only, if he is to be judged a success: He must prevent Al Qaeda, or a Qaeda imitator, from gaining control of a nuclear device and detonating it in America. Everything else Fannie Mae, health care reform, energy independence, the budget shortfall in Wasilla, Alaska is commentary.

It has been found that if a lie is told often enough and for long enough it becomes history. Jews run the world, infect children, are responsible for all the ills of the world. Do not mistake the crazy lies as being from stupid people. it is from people who know that if you say it enough some people will belive and they will teach it to their children.
We will have endless proliferations of lies and others at least until we resolve the issue of the Palestinians, BUT we are missing the golden opportunity of describing the situation as a simple population exchange: 850,000 Mizrachi Jews (1948-67) for 750,000 Palestinians (1948-67). Why do we waste another day failing to propagate this truth and say it as often as needed??
Something that few Jews even appear to realise is that as many as 4-500 of the WTC victims were Jewish. Some Jewish conspiracy! As I said in a blog post earlier this year:
In the case of the worst single example of Islamist terror – the 9/11 World Trade Centre bombing - there seems to have been a strong belief on the part of the perpetrators that they were attacking a specifically Jewish target rather than simply an American one. In fact, it would appear that 4-500 of victims were in fact Jewish; somewhere between 15 and 20 percent of the almost 3,000 victims. This is almost half as many again as were killed during the entire Second Intifada.

This just in: Well, it’s official. The Democratic National Committee has ceased to exist. That’s right, on 09-11-08, the 7th anniversary of the 09-11-01 attacks, the DNC for lack of a better analogy, has been relegated to the dustbin of history. Wherein, it has joined such notables as the former Soviet Union, mood rings, and disco. So long DNC, it’s been real. America needs a two-party system, but the DNC could run on fumes for only so long. It’s up to Barack Obama to restructure the platform. And, perhaps he’s the man for the job. Now the DNC sputtered along nursing its panoply of grievances, eye poking, finger pointing, hair pulling, nail biting, and head banging from which it garnered a more than substantial income. But shortly after 09-11-01, the DNC also collapsed into a pile of smoke & rubble. Did most Democrats / Liberals truly have nothing in common with, and dislike the very people they relied on to get them elected? D’oh! What happened and why, will no doubt be fodder for more practiced wits than my own; but one thing’s certain: the DNC is finished, the Democratic Party is over: http://theseedsof9-11.com

For as long as it takes, Israel must ciontinue to keep its dukes up and stop pretending that the Arab world is on the verge of a momentous change inits relations with the Jewish state.
