Full moon over the West Bank
This post should not be interpreted as an endorsement of the International Solidarity Movement nor the cameraman's take on the land dispute in question. But rather a hope that if the day of turning swords into plows and spears into pruning hooks is not around the corner, then at least the Israelis and Palestinians could make progress by dropping their drawers instead of picking up their guns.
In other words, what many of you may see as boorish, I call progress.

I disagree that this video shows any progress. Israeli soldiers have always been pranksters, even going back to the 1960’s when my father was in the tsava. He did his fair share of mooning in those days. It simply underscores the fact that Israeli soldiers are not malicious or inherently violent, as ISM would have you believe. As for Palestinians dropping their pants, where’ the video? The only modes of expression I have seen from Palestinians are waving fists in the air, throwing rocks, shooting kalachnikovs, and firing kassams. Where’s the progress?
