Entering the Covenant: Aguilera baby gets bris
Enough with the bad news from Amy Winehouse and the Spears sisters. Finally a Mazal Tov in celebrity world:
E! News has learned exclusively that new parents Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman held a bris, the Hebrew baby naming and circumcision ritual ceremony, at their Beverly Hills home Sunday.More than a dozen family and friends attended the gathering. Jewish rituals aren't new to the Bratman family. In 2005, the couple wed in a Jewish ceremony in Napa Valley, California.
A bris is typically done on a baby's eighth day of life, and sure enough, son Max Liron was born Jan. 12. He came home from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center earlier this week.
The ceremony formalizes the child's name; his middle name, Liron, means "my song" in Hebrew. Fittingly, Christina is "already singing to Max," we're told.

Must have been a “Reformish” bris seeing that the mother did not convert. Aiy ai, Kabbalah, drive-by brisses, this is true blue cut-and-paste American Judaism without Torah.
May Moshiach come yesterday.
What makes you think that the mother did not convert?
And, even if she did not convert - the Bris may have been step one in the conversion of the child.
Many Poskim (E.g. Reb Ovadya Yosef) allow an infant to be converted where the mother remains a non-Jew.
I have read online that Daniel Day Lewis supports Palestinian suicide bombers and has called Israel an apartheid nation. I will boycott his movies. Give me a break and stop promoting this self-hater.
First of all, what does this post have to do with Daniel Day Lewis? Secondly, why don’t you read what DDL himself wrote from Gaza before supposing that he supports suicide bombing. Believing Palestinians in Gaza to be suffering is certainly not the same as supporting terrorism.
Christina has not converted to Judiasm and probably never will. Her wedding was a fraud and so was the bris of her Gentile child. I’m so sick and tired of Judaism being disrespected by rogue phony Rabbis. If Jordan wanted Jewish children he should have married a Jewish woman or at least a woman who really wanted to convert and not because of marriage.
To anti-intermarriage
Our sages teach us not to put barriers in front of those who seek us out. Why not perform the brit at 8 days. Would you rather see a grown man suffer at a later date. The mikvah is not painful.

FYI. Oy! Also from this newsletter: Jamie Lynn Sigler visits Israel (she was raised Jewish in Jericho, LI after her Puerto Rican mother converted), and news about “Jewish” Golden Globe winners-- Duchovny (Jewish father) and Daniel Day-Lewis (jewish mother)! I’ll tell you, we really run show business!
