Israeli Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz published an open letter to Barack Obama in today’s Jerusalem Post, reminding the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate that Israel’s struggle for its survival is not yet over.
And if anyone’s wondering about the halting pace of progress in the development of Israel’s transportation infrastructure, it’s probably because the transportation minister is more concerned with rockets in Iran than trains in Jerusalem: “The only truly important issue for the State of Israel has been and will continue to be our ability to continue living and surviving here as a people,” Mofaz said.
The Post’s Calev Ben-David says Obama’s real greeting to Israel came yesterday in the form of a Jerusalem terrorist attack within sight of his hotel in the city, when an Arab from eastern Jerusalem went on a bulldozer rampage.
That terrorist’s message?
His message to you was that some things are not negotiable, and some people do not really wish to be negotiated with, at least not on any terms but their own; that Israel’s crime is not what it does or where its borders are, but its very existence; and that no matter which president sits in the White House, those basic - or, one might say, sacred - principles will remain unchanged.

That is one articulate bulldozer.
Mofaz is the only Israeli leader who is not afraid to voice his conern about Iran’s threats to desroy Israel. All the others , including Livni have no back bone to stand up and face reality.

It seems to this writer that Obama simply cannot be trusted. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth at the same time, evidence that he will say anything to get elected. One day he makes promises to AIPAC and the next day takes them back when the Arabs don’t like it. In Israel he is similarly unable to take a strongly principled stand against murderers of women and children and those who would continue to support the demonization of israel in their press, schools, and public discourse.
It’s a hard lesson, but those of us who have studied Arab culture and inter-Arab politics for many years know that the post-Renaissance Western model of negotiation and compromise simply won’t work in that region The language of the Middle East is that of strength and force, and the single best wake-up call to the Arabs would be moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem at once, and making it clear to our allies that we expect no less of them.
The comments are correct but Moshe Feiglin, not Mofaz, is the answer. Israel desparately needs belief based principled leadership NOW…IMMEDIATELY to turn away from it’s path of self-destruction.

Putting other people down diverts attention from our own issues. We need to ‘Do Unto Others As We Would Have Others Do Unto Us’. If we ‘Loved Our Neighbor’, they could not hate us. We might have to ‘Turn The Other Cheek’. ‘Thou Shalt Not Kill’ - we are the least exempt from this commandment, yet we set the prime example as murderers.
Obama is really a Jew. Like history’s apostates he wants to destroy the Jews. See the people with whom he surrounds himself and take a close look at his supporters.

Obama is as anti-Semitic as they come and it baffles me how any Jew in their right mind could entertain the thought of voting for him, or turn their back on him. The American Press has a love fest going with this man, he is made of Teflon. If you disagree with him you are a racist.
This guy reminds me of Hitler, his grandstanding, all he wants to do is change everything but does not have a plan to do it, his followers are glassy eyed, like the Hitler youth, can’t tell you why they like him or are voting for him, they just want change! He has shown his true colors too many times, his statement in Iowa that the Palestinians suffer more then anyone, his church, they never aired the anti-Semitic rants the Reverend Wright spoke, they were just lovely, pictures of him at Palestinian fund raisers with Prof. Edward Said, his involvement with Arab Groups before he became Senator. Why is it that no one is doing their own vetting?
Obama is a dreamer who believes in Magical Wishes…
He will negotiate Israel to its bitter end whereby the Arabs have in the end won and Israel will be , as the Arabs wish, destroyed as the HOMELAND of the Jewish people…Obama is all fluff and smoke…The bleeding hearts will vote for him and get what they deserve…
