I didn't see the whole list. nWhy not print it here?

I'd like to see if there inclusions represent different parts of the progressive emphasis (ies., M. Lerner, C. Surasky, S. Zunes,
J. Finkel, H. Lebow, etc.)

Amy! By my count there are at least 3 or 4 Orthodox Jews on the list: Michael Mukasey, Peter Deutsch, Boruch Shlomo Cunin and Erez Safar aka DJ Handler. But rather than bemoan the lack of Traditional Jewry on the list, ask yourself why it is that Orthodox Judaism has failed to significantly influence or engage the rest of the American Jewish community? I feel as if except for a few outreach organizations, NJOP and Chabad, Orthodoxy has given up on the bulk of American Jewry. Is the Forward biased? Or is their list merely reflective of what's really going on?

Ok, people from the Forward: How would you respond to Steve Brizel's comment? I think he makes a good point, so let's give a hear.

God.
I think God should have made it in the Forward 50 because he's (she's?) certainly made a big comeback this year -- whether by being Not Great (Christopher Hitchens) a Delusion (Richard Dawkins) or back in favor ("There Is a God: How the World’s Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind").
Everyone's talking about God as the root of all good/evil in the world.

Once again, the Forward's list is politically and religiously correct-liberal, feminist, Conservative, Reform with a few neo cons thrown in as tokens and devoid of anyone who could be remotely considered Orthodox-Modern or Charedi. How quaint,

Nice way to sell newspapers to the elite. Now maybe those "Who's Who" plaquemakers have more calls to make. With a circulation of 25,000, the paper reaches .0004 percent of Jews. Maybe most Jews don't care.
