It should probably be stated that Evangelicals, who are very different from Mormons, also believe that Jews are people chosen of God. This has sometimes made us overly supportive of Israel’s actions, but it is the basis of the fact that Evangelicals understand Jews’ attachment to Israel, and are generally supportive--in contrast to mush of the mind-set displayed in the mainstream media at present.

Excellent article that promotes common ground. As a Mormon, I have yet to meet a Jew I didn’t instantly like. In a time when U.S. sanctions against Israel are in the balance, I’m grateful for the likes of Sen. Orrin Hatch, Sen. Robert Bennet and Sen. Harry Reid (Mormons) all of whom strive to find common ground.

Jews do not celebrate 8 days of Hanukah in one night which is what the song implies. We celebrate a small vessel of oil for the eternal light, enough for one day, lasting eight days. That is the reason we celebrate Hanukah for 8 days. This is not the only reason for celebrating Hanukah, but the core of the soneg seems to be the number of days. Great beat, voices and enthusiasm, but obviously Oren Hatch needs to live it a bit to truly understand the holiday, and by living it, I certainly don’t mean wearing a mezzuzah around your neck.
