Jeffrey Goldberg and Jeremy Ben-Ami, frenemies at last

There’s a lively exchange over at the Goldblog over what J Street stands for; J Street’s Jeremy Ben-Ami gives as good as Jeffrey Goldberg has been giving him in recent weeks, and finally - finally - removes the mealy from his mouth and actually tells us what he stands for. Agree with him, disagree, at least we now know:

“(If I’d known that’s what it takes to extract meaningful thinking from Jeremy was a little public abuse, I would have indulged ages ago.)”

---

Ron, I think you’re slightly full of it, just like Ben-Ami himself who flows in the wind like a sail. All month the winds have been blowing badly for JStreet exposing the organization as way out of the Jewish mainstream views on Israel - So now he’s a huge moderate. At the end of the day Ben-Ami blows in whatever direction best helps Obama - Not Israel.

Both “J” Street and Aipac would benefit by advocating the three-state solution.

This idea of a loose confederation of Israel-Palestine-Jordan will prove more effective .

This notion was proposed 40 years ago by Arieh Eliav, who saw this “Benelux” formation as a way to provide not only the political identity the Palestinians want -but a real chance of economic progress for both Palestine and Jordan. This in turn provides rel security for Israel in the long run.
