Theater J at the DCJCC is supported by the Jewish Federation. It is not an independent theater group. Theater J at the DCJCC is listed as a participating organization for the J Street Conference and is engaged in planning programs for the conference. Spokesmen for the DCJCC and the Theater can claim that their participation does not represent an endorsement of the policies of the conference. But as reported in the Washington Jewish Week, the J STREET spokesman Spitalnick states clearly that participating organizations “essentially agree to help recruit for the conference.” Should a theater group supported by the Jewish Federation be involved in recruiting, planning programs, lending its name as a participating organization to J Street’s conference with a strong political agenda.

J Street’s Threat to Israel: As if Richard Goldstone wasn’t enough, the community of loyal Jews also has to cope—increasingly—with J Street. J Street is holding a conference in Washington later this month, and it’s trying to get the Israeli ambassador to the U.S., Michael Oren, to come to it. Oren has yet to accept.
