The Israelis pulled out of Gaza and got a terrorist quasi-State, an arms buildup, and lots of dead Israelis. How will a two state solution produce something different? We already know that international “guarantees” are worthless--peacekeepers are co-opted and at the first sign of trouble they pull out. Insanity has been defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. It’s not about Israel; it’s about Palestinian character: they tried to overthrow every Arab government that gave them hospitality, and got kicked out--Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon. The solution is draconian control, either as provinces of Egypt and Jordan, or under effective international quarantine, coupled with resettlement under UNHCR for those who are willing to move to those few States that are willing to take them. Hirsch leejh@sbcglobal.net I am a “diyed in the wool” liberal who believes in most of the liberal agenda.  Israel has many faults, but when I read the “death wish” material, such as we see frequently among those Jews who condemn Israel for attempting to survive among international hatred, I wonder what planet they come form. If it were not for such oganizations as AIPAC do these foolish people think Israel would be loved.  Get real!!!! Times and it’s sister publications or has come over the air on PBS, CNN, etc..  Their lack of education must fall at the feet of their parents.  Unfortunately it seems that a strong dose of anti-Semitism hitting close to home will be needed to wake them up.
