The U.S. should not be playing “footsies” with the U.N. When the U.N. recognizes and gives platforms to known state-sponsors of terrorism such as Iran,Libya, and a host of other Arab, Asian, and African countries it’s time to DROP OUT of the U.N. The U.N. has become a “worthless” organization, largely funded with U.S. citizen tax dollars. Just another example of wasteful U.S. Govn’t spending. Why won’t the U.S. take the lead and refuse to negotiate with known state sponsers of terrorism?

Canada opted out of Durban II months ago, and that was a good thing, bringing relief to Canadian Jews. On the basis of previous Canadian governments’ actions vis-a-vis the UN, unfortunately, we’re likely only one prime minister away from our previous non-commitment attitudes. It’s quite wonderful that the US has now decided, after attempting intervention, and realizing its futility, to drop out. Surely this will send a necessary message, albeit a limited one, given the bloc of Muslim, Arab, Asian and African countries allied in a common purpose and in so doing, bring to shame the purpose of the United Nations.
