The National Council of Jewish Women said Pelosi was absolutely stating that "giving women control over their own fertility is not only a moral good, it is sound economics." The organization is also disappointed with Obama for asking for the elimination of that family planning provision in the economic stimulus bill. As a professional economist, I am particularly annoyed at the NCJW and others of their ilk who are piling on their agendas in the name of “economic stimulus.” This is just one of many more “bridges to nowhere.” It is NOT the new beginning the President had in mind. It’s the same old BS. Whatever the merits of enhanced family planning efforts may be they haven’t got a damn thing to do with stimulating the economy and reducing unamployment now.
