Tidbits: New State Dept. man on Iran, J Street on Bibi and Rahm
- The new deputy assistant secretary in charge of Iran at the State Department is John Limbert, a member of the National Iranian American Council board of advisers (up until the appointment). NIAC opposes current legislation to toughen sanctions on Iran.
- The American Jewish Congress joins the RAC and the NCJW in urging the rejection of the House-passed restriction on abortion in the health-care bill.
- J Street found things to like about both Rahm Emanuel and Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks at the General Assembly this week.
- And something we meant to link last week: The Orthodox Union notes that Orthodox areas in New Jersey were, for the most part, big backers of Republican Gov.-elect Chris Christie (and probably helped to swing the county legislature Republican).

Thunder and Lightning, or in Hebrew – Rahm and Barak, can either bring rains of blessing or a damaging storm.
Rahm Emanuel spoke to the General Assembly of Jewish leaders regarding Israel and US involvement in achieving peace between Israel and the Arab occupants of Judea and Samaria. He spoke of his family’s connection to Israel, President Obama’s dedication to peace in the region and how what started in 1967, must end.
