AJCongress applauds administration on Goldstone

American Jewish Congress is applauding the Obama administration for its effort to quash the Goldstone Report. Here's their statement:

By deciding not to by review the sadly flawed Goldstone Report, the Security Council has finally made an important contribution to the Middle East peace process.

We believe that the United State and many European nations correctly understood that if Israel could be thrown in the dock for defending itself, there was no likelihood that it could be persuaded to take the additional risks which will be necessary in any peace deal.

Israel is already investigated whether any violation of international law took place during Operation Cast Lead. The Libyan effort to bring the issue before the Security Council was an attempt to make mischief at the expense of peace-making. The Obama administration is to be applauded for standing up to the pressures to press Israel further.

Once again, Cheryl seems to be having a long, rambling conversation with herself or is merely filling these pages with rightwing materials plagiarized from elsewhere.

I was happy to see that the US voted against the Goldstone report on Friday.
The US as a country which also fight terror understands that adopting the report would reward terrorists worldwide!

In an August interview with South Africa’s Business Day, Goldstone admitted that “If it had been a judicial inquiry, that letter [Chinkin] signed would have been a ground for disqualification.”

On the other hand the world court track record of allowing a judge who said Israel was guilty guilty PRIOR to the court hearing is established.
Some justice!
