Van Jones’ Israel problem
Van Jones, the "Green Jobs" adviser who quit the White House this weekend, had an Israel problem.
As I noted in my earlier post, Jones quit because of his -- he says inadvertent -- signature on a 9-11 "Truther" petition.
Power Line uncovered a talk and music CD called, "Wartimes, reports from the opposition," hosted by Mumia Abu Jamal, the activist on death row. (H/T to Commentary and Marty Peretz.)
It appears to be from 2002 -- certainly during the previous administration's "War on Terror." Jones not only appears deeply immersed in Palestinian liberation rhetoric, he embraces one-statism.
What we want to see at this point is the rights of the Palestinian people being respected. And at this point, the end of the occupation, the right of return of the Palestinian people. These are the critical dividing lines, global dividing lines, questions of human rights. We have to be here. No American would put up with an Israeli-style occupation of their hometown for 53 days, let alone 54 years.
"54 years" dates his problem with Israel to 1948, not 1967.
Power Line, which says Jones produced the CD, posted this on Saturday; Jones quit Saturday night; you gotta wonder if it was a final straw.

Your problem is more than just Israel. Your problem is your being brainwashed to believe the crap you post here. If you learned your anti-Semitism at home, then your parents failed miserably. I’m guessing that you attended the Rachel Corrie school of Pali-love, Jew-slander, and suicide. You wouldn’t know apartheid if it chomped down on your obese bum! Learn what the word means by looking at the 22 enemy nations which surround Israel and have cleansed virtually every Jew from their lands. By the way, if Israel had wanted every Pali dead (as you stupidly imply), it would have happened a long time ago, thereby sparing Israel and the world from the social pollution caused by these parasitic, genocidal savages.
P.S. Is it just a coincidence that so many bottomfeeding Jew-/
Israelhunters posting here use Oxford English. You people used to be such decent, respectable folk before you became common, despicable anti-Semites!

Why is it an “AIPAC” position to want Israel to survive? When someone refers to “occupation” as beginning in 1948, they are rejecting the United Nations resolutions creating the State of Israel, along with the history of the Jewish homeland.
As to the settlements, while I am not a fan of them, why are they such an obstacle? Why couldn’t the Jewish residents of land in the “West Bank” continue to live there under a peaceful Palestinian state? Millions of Arabs live within the 1948 “borders.” Why is assumed that a Palestinian state would have to be “Jew-free?” Is it because the other Arab states have systematically expelled virtually all the Jewish residents, some living for generations? And why no talk of a “right of return” to Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, etc. for the Jews?
