EMET pulls out of involvement with “Obsession Project”
A pro-Israel think tank has pulled out of involvement with "The Obsession Project," just a few days after a Muslim advocacy group filed a complaint about the effort.
The Washington, D.C.-based Endowment for Middle East Truth had agreed to write a policy paper and lead an educational outreach effort subsequent to the distribution of 28 million DVDs of the film "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West." The DVD distribution was funded and arranged by the Clarion Fund, and EMET was not involved with that portion of the project.
EMET founder and president Sarah Stern initially told JTA on Friday that she had been taken advantage of by the group and had never spoken with Ari Morgenstern, who was quoted in press reports as speaking for EMET and the Obsession Project.
But the communications strategists for the project, Baron Communications LLC and 30 Point Strategies, shared e-mails and phone records that showed Stern had at least four telephone conversations earlier in the week with Morgenstern. In addition, they produced an e-mail from Sept. 22 which showed Stern approving of a press release and other materials announcing EMET's participation. Another e-mail a day later from Stern included a lengthy note backing the project's mission and the sign-off "Soldier On!"
Stern now does acknowledge having spoken to Morgenstern and approving involvement with the project, but now says she "made a mistake" in not getting approval from EMET's board before agreeing to became a partner. She said she still supports efforts to encourage Americans to watch "Obsession."
The Council on American-Islamic Relations asked the Federal Election Commission on Sept. 23 to investigate the distribution of the DVDs and whether it was intended to influence the election – even though the film includes no partisan political content. The DVD were inserted into dozens of newspapers in swing states. The Muslim group claims that Aish HaTorah International is behind the project. A spokesman for Aish HaTorah denied the organization was involved, but said employees of the group may be involved in their free time.

Islam is an evil and dishonest ideology. It is well known that 50 million abortions in the US has made it necessary to replace good Americans with questionable Islamics, many of these people are radical or suspect because of ties to the terrorist supporting Islamicals.
Fact is - I spoke to a Muslim leader and put it on You Tube and he says he has read where the Islamical beliefs state that if a man leaves Islam kill him. So put that in your peace pipe and smoke it.
I am glad things began to come out to light, now
the American people are starting to see that in fact Jews are the adyans of this land not the Muslims. By brain washing the population with a false propaganda video to gain votes is
majestically unacceptable, and simply a treason. What now you want to send more of our kids to die for you? are you not satisfied with what you did already?
Interesting comment from Mr. Rice; I imagine he will also agree to condemn Judaism with the same ease if a “Jewish Leader” shares a personal, vile belief?
I urge people to not swallow propaganda promoted by those who are experts in the Hate-Islam industry. If you would rather believe a non-Muslim about Islam, then please take the time to read Rabbi Reuven Firestone’s book, “Children of Abraham; an intorduction to Judaism for Muslims”, it compares Islam and Judaism with the scholarship and knowledge that not many people possess. In fact, it is a “must read” for Jews or Christians who may wish to understand what Islam is really about as well as for Muslims to learn about Judaism.
Wide-eyed disclaimers as from EMET notwithstanding, we, the people of good will, must learn to talk to each other and understand each other even if we disagree with each other or we WILL destroy each other.
Bahá’u’lláh stated at that meeting:
“… That all nations should become one in faith and all men as brothers; that the bonds of affection and unity between the sons of men should be strengthened; that diversity of religion should cease, and differences of race be annulled — what harm is there in this? … Yet so it shall be; these fruitless strifes, these ruinous wars shall pass away, and the ‘Most Great Peace’ shall come.… Let not a man glory in this, that he loves his country; let him rather glory in this, that he loves his kind.”
Mr. Gary Rice apparently has a hateful view. If he was a German in the 1930s he would say the same thing aout Jews. If he was with the KKK he would say similar things about African Americans. If he was with Al-Qaeda, he would say the same thing about the West. At this point there are two groups. The pacifists, the pluralists, the people who realize that we are on one space ship (earth) and dedspite our differences, need to get along. On the other hand we have the haters, the war-mongerers, the dividers who are eagerly awaiting armageddon. Let those of us who love our children and our world join together to let these haters know that human beings are capable of co-existing and working towards a better future for humanity.

this is a good sign towards establishing trust among multi-faith organizations and the need to have continuted cooperation on various grounds including unjustified fears of the other. clarion funds set up by a canadian of jewish origin has tried to put a wedge between the religious diversity of the states by banking on the fear tactics that the GOP routinely uses. We need to confront ignorance with knowledge and insecurity with out-reach. it needs a lot of work especially when the muslim organizations are not financially well-equipped to tackle this type of religious bigotry at a national level. the jewish groups like this one should help in partnering with all faith based groups in highlighting the disaster of isolation and self-preservation at the expense of the other when we all are in the same glass house.
