Recap: NRA leader vs. feminist icon on Palin

Just in case you missed it during yesterday's deluge, two trailblazing Jewish women – one Blue, one Red – offer opposite takes on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin... Sandra Forman, the only Jew and only the second woman to lead the NRA, has a piece out hailing the Republican vice presidential candidate (and noting that Obama is no hunter).

The feminist guru Gloria Steinem, on the other hand, says Palin would be bad for the women.

“(a) we’re not in Nazi Germany”

Neither were Germany’s Jews until the 1930s. They were in a country that had a lot of Jews precisely because of its relatively good religious tolerance.

“(b) the Republicans are the ones trying to convert all the Jews”

No, some Evangelical Christians want to do this, and we have the right to say “No” politely. On the other hand, Islamic supremacists DO want to convert us (and Christians), by force if necessary. This is yet another argument for more guns in the hands of law-abiding and loyal citizens.

“(c) we’re not in Israel”
No, but hundreds of violent crimes are stopped by privately-owned guns every year, with perhaps millions more being deterred. Note that, for every violent criminal who is shot and killed, four others are only wounded, and 95 surrender or flee before the gun is fired at them.

“(d) neither Obama nor his mainstream Democrat colleagues want all guns banned”

Obama is not a mainstream Democrat, he represents the party’s extreme Left. He does support a ban on guns when he is not insulting the intelligence of rural Pennsylvanians by suggesting that he supports the Second Amendment. Biden also supports gun bans.

Jewsvote.org states openly that Obama will appoint more justices like Breyer and Ginsberg, who have already proven their unfitness not only by trying to rewrite the Second Amendment (like Squealer the Pig in “Animal Farm") but by ruling that developers can collude with dishonest municipal governments to steal property through eminent domain for their own private enrichment. I need to get a screenshot of that and post it as widely as possible.

Re: “(a) we’re not in Nazi Germany”

The Jews in Crown Heights suffered a reenactment of Kristallnacht, the “Night of the Broken Glass,” at the hands of Al Sharpton’s followers, who also murdered Yankel Rosenbaum while chanting “Kill the Jews.” It is illegal to own handguns in New York City, and I think even long guns are heavily regulated. That is why Sharpton & Co. were able to reenact the Night of the Broken Glass. They wouldn’t dare try this garbage in most parts of Pennsylvania, where guns are quite common. (State law forbids Philadelphia to enact gun laws of its own.) The Los Angeles rioters who murdered numerous people while trashing everything in sight stopped when they saw Korean store owners holding rifles outside their stores.

Note that Obama endorsed Al Sharpton and his National Action Network, so maybe he approves of rioters who scream “Kill the Jews.” Maybe he doesn’t want Jews to have guns because, if they did, some of the rioters who are trying to kill the Jews might get shot.

Jerry: The reform movement--as you obviously know given the fact that you omitted this information--allows for a person to be considered Jewish if their mother or father is Jewish.

Thank you Chris for your thoughts. I feel the same way about this site. I take a great deal of pride in knowing that the overwhelming (and that’s an understatement) amount of Jews will vote for the Democratic candidate. Barack Obama is one of the finest presidential candidates to come along in some time. I’m pleased as hell to be voting for him.

Re: “the overwhelming (and that’s an understatement) amount of Jews will vote for the Democratic candidate.”

Only because they don’t know that Obama consorts openly with, promotes, and enables racists and anti-Semites like Al Sharpton. I and others are doing our best to make sure they find out before Election Day.

I have also posted links and screenshots to material from Obama’s church that questions Israel’s legitimacy, calls for divestment from Israel, and falsely accuses Israel of developing an “ethnic bomb” with which to kill Negroes and Arabs. That ought to take care of any support he might get from supporters of Israel (and other fellow democracies--Biden played a role in selling out South Vietnam to the enemy in 1973). The only question is as to how widely it circulates between now and Election Day.

Re: “The Nazis were leftists? Are you ***** kidding?” Once you get to totalitarians like Nazis and Communists, the difference between “left” and “right” no longer matters. Either one will kill anyone who doesn’t agree with them, stifle free speech, and so on.

Bill:

A few questions.

How does Obama enable racists and anti-Semites?

Was Obama the author of any of that stuff at his church? If not, is there any evidence he endorsed it?

What was Biden’s role in “selling out” South Vietnam? Did he give Nixon the order to pull out? What makes you think SV was a democracy, not a dictatorial and corrupt sham state with no popular support?

Bruce; No matter what the “Reform Movement” says Gloria Steinem is not a Jew under Halacha law!

Re: “How does Obama enable racists and anti-Semites?”

Obama posed arm in arm with Al Sharpton in April 2007, and endorsed both him and his National Action Network--the same group that, while under Sharpton’s leadership and supervision, shouted racial and anti-Semitic epithets at a Jewish-owned store in Harlem. He also refused to “reject” the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan until Hillary Clinton and Tim Russert cornered him like a rat on national television, and he solicited and accepted the support of MoveOn.org--yet another anti-Semitic (and anti-Catholic) hate organization--see my linked page for what its members had to say about Jews on a site under MoveOn’s editorial control.

Obama’s friends at MoveOn.org also published an official bulletin that cited sources like the Electronic Intifada. I have a copy online.

“Was Obama the author of any of that stuff at his church? If not, is there any evidence he endorsed it?” He was a member of a church whose congregation and leaders sanctioned the use of the church’s official bulletin to propagate this material. As a member and self-proclaimed “community organizer,” he could have stood up against it, but he didn’t. He could have quit this church before he was forced to do so this year, but he didn’t.

South Vietnam had its problems, but apparently not bad enough to get desperate Vietnamese to risk and often lose their lives in small boats ("boat people") to flee. That was the Hanoi government. Biden voted to cut the legs out from under South Vietnam when Hanoi broke its peace agreement and invaded in 1973.

Biden also once threatened to cut off aid to Israel, and he opposed modernization of the U.S. strategic nuclear arsenal. His record on national security is one of being consistently wrong.
