Political Tidbits: McCain pursues the Jews, Willie Horton admaker plays Muslim card

  • Republican Jews say they’ve nabbed big Jewish Dem donor from South Florida. (Some liberal bloggers claim he’s given to GOPers before, but his FEC records show he generally helps Democrats.)
  • Congress Daily reports on John McCain’s efforts to make inroads with Jewish voters.
  • Rabbi Avi Shafran of Agudath Israel of America defends Pastor John Hagee. Michael Felsen of the Workmen’s Circle says Israel and the pro-Israel lobby might be better off without friends like him.
  • The creator of the Willie Horton ad presses Obama-is-a-Muslim campaign.
  • L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa heads to Israel as his re-election campaign gears up.
  • Michael C. Desch, the Robert M. Gates Chair in Intelligence and National Security Decision-Making at Texas A&M University, says a presidential candidate who wants to be a true friend of Israel would sound more like Kissinger, Carter and Baker.

  1. Re: “The creator of the Willie Horton ad presses Obama-is-a-Muslim campaign.” This is totally counterproductive, and works in Obama’s favor.

    First, it is not true.

Second, it suggests that there is something wrong with being a Muslim (as opposed to an Islamic supremacist). I find this line of argument distasteful.

Third, this weak and unfounded accusation diverts attention from the very real things that are wrong with Obama, such as the Black Nationalism he himself described in “Dreams From My Father” and his open association with and even promotion of racists and/or anti-Semites (Wright, Pfleger, Farrakhan, Sharpton, Otis Moss, MoveOn dot org.) I mention Otis Moss because he welcomed Pfleger’s “There were a whole lot of white people crying” sermon to TUCC.

Let’s stick to the truth and end Obama’s candidacy honorably, fairly, and largely with his own actions and statements.

“Let’s stick to the truth and end Obama’s candidacy honorably…”

Amazing statement! Let’s end the candidacy of a very competent man, Harvard top graduate, superbly intelligent and highly effective because his is black and uneducated whites can’t stand that a black guy should tell them what to do. Let’s replace him with a war monger who can’t tell his left and right feet apart, who had no moral qualms about raining burning gasoline on the Vietnamese people, who ranked last at the Naval Academy (where he was admitted not because of his merits but because his father was an Admiral - a la Bush in Yale) and whose obsolete notion of “patriotism” and fear mongering are completely inadequate for the XXI century.

To insure the US continues its decent into Third-World Obama’s candidacy must be terminated and a narrow minded war criminal must move into the White House. To stop global warming all you need is national prayers.

  3. Domingo,

You have to be very careful about calling anyone a criminal, war or otherwise, because it is libelous unless you can prove it. John Kerry, however, would have to sue himself for the following:

“There are all kinds of atrocities, and I would have to say that, yes, yes, I committed the same kind of atrocities as thousands of other soldiers have committed in that I took part in shootings in free fire zones…”

As for Obama’s competence, he said in a Wall Street Journal interview that not only globalization, but also technology and automation, put working people at a disadvantage. Anyone who is that ignorant of economics, as well as the origin of the blue collar middle class that makes up the backbone of the Democratic Party, is totally unqualified for much of anything.
