The Jewish Star: YU lays of 60 employees, cuts 120 positions

The Jewish Star, a little known Orthodox newspaper, is reporting this morning that Yeshiva University is laying off 60 people and eliminating 120 positions because of financial difficulty.

What were the real losses?

While it has been repeatedly reported that Yeshiva University lost $110 million in the Madoff scheme, the school told Bloomberg News yesterday that its actual investment was only $14.5 million.
