JDC and JAFI seek conflict resolution
Representatives of the Jewish Agency, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Federations of North America met today at the New York offices of the JFNA in an attempt to solve a decades-old struggle over how much each of the two overseas organizations take home from the federations’ annual campaigns.

JDC officials in Israel disciplined over ‘inappropriate financial transaction’

Relief agencies: Early outpouring of dollars for Haiti are critical
It will not be clear for another week or so whether donors have simply shifted the way that they give money, becoming more inclined to give online than they are to send checks, or whether the amount of money given online represents a huge overall outpouring that surpasses the donations that came in the aftermath of the tsunami.

JDC faces tough choices at board meetings
On Sunday and Monday, the JDC’s board of trustees will gather at the Helmsley Hotel in New York City to decide on next year’s budget. They must make serious budget cuts primarily, the JDC says, because of drastic reductions in the allocations it receives from local Jewish federations via the Jewish Federations of North America (formerly the UJC).
