UJC: Campaign pledges are down

The UJC has new numbers showing that federation fund raising held steady in 2008-2009, but pledges so far this year are down.

Jonathan: I find that comment interesting. The data on the drop in canadian dollars was not my own analysis. That was given to me by the UJC, a fact that they also report on their Web site. Do you think the UJC is picking at the Canadian federations?

You’re comparing apples to oranges with the Canadian numbers.

The 2007 figures include Toronto’s special Israel Emergency Campaign, which was counted as part of the regular campaign.

While the overall “regular” Canadian campaign dollars might have dropped between 2007 and 2008, even if it did it’s nowhere near as great as this article suggests.
