Great post, Jacob.

People can find a few other charities to donate to (such as American Friends of Magen David Adom and Zaka), here:

Very nice collection and its admirable that so many groups want to help.  But it’s odd that in terms of actual hands on rescue and relief, the only one organization that is providing services is American Friends of Magen david Adom.  I’d certianly hope that the others collecting general funds were to realize this and allocate their funding to MDA.

The ROI Community is mobilizing its international network: http://www.roicommunity.org/blog/carmel-forest-fire-relief-effort

For every donation up to $500 made to the Carmel Fire Relief Fund by an ROI member or friend of a ROIer over the next 10 days, Lynn Schusterman will match that donation dollar for dollar.  And for those in Israel who are able to volunteer time, efforts and resources – a donation to the fund will be made in their honor.
