JTA: The Global News Service of the Jewish People

Caption this: Sharansky in Moscow

Let’s have some fun.

Here’s the real caption for this photo, taken this week in Moscow: “Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky opens the new academic year at the Lipman Jewish Day School in Moscow. (Credit: Fatima Burnatzeva)”

Can you beat it with a fake caption?

My first shot at it: “Upon hearing that American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin and the D.C. political satirists the Capitol Steps would perform at this year's General Assembly in Washington, new Jewish Agency chairman Natan Sharansky decided he could better woo the Jewish federation system with a bit of music. Here, Sharansky and the Former Soviet Six sing their rendition of Hanson’s 'MMMBop.'”

In response to ongoing budget cuts, Natan Sharansky auctions off some of the finest Jewish youth the world has ever seen.

Neil… you managed to be more offensive than Mussa, who seems to have followed me to JTA from my Jewish Standard days

Jacob, ahhh, but you posted it any way—which says as much about you as it does about me. As for Mussa, everyone has to have a hobby, eh?
